Client Wedding - Kate & Brendan - Classic Regency
It's lovely to receive photographs from a clients Wedding Day, so I was particularly excited to receive these photos from Kate & Brendan to end the year on a high note! Kate & Brendan fell in love with mini Moko's Regency Wedding Stationery collection. They were keen to introduce the soft grey of the bridesmaid dresses into the designs and so I developed a classic colour combination with the soft grey offset by a subtle off white colour.

Above: Flowers were by supplied by a very talented friend, Bridal Gown from the Pronovios Collection at Fashions by Farina and imported from Europe, Regency Order of Service Covers by mini Moko, Bridesmaid dresses from Hugs for Brides in Rockdale, the Wedding took place at All Saints' Anglican Church in Hunters Hill and all photography by Darryn Mckay at Mckay Wedding Photography.

Above: Simply stunning photograph beside the Sydney Opera House by Darryn Mckay at Mckay Wedding Photography, Regency Menu Covers by mini Moko, Wedding Cake by Faye Cahill, Regency Place Cards by mini Moko and the Wedding reception took place at The Royal Automobile Club of Australia in Sydney.
Don't you just love the last shot! We wish you all the best Kate & Brendan, hugs and kisses from mini Moko xoxo

Birth Announcements for a Boy
Okay, as promised here is an inspiration board for the little fellas!
These birth announcements were inspired by a trip to the zoo. I think it's always quite nice to introduce some contrasting colour when designing stationery for little boys and girls, otherwise everything gets over dominated with baby blue and pink. In this case I have used orange for my Elephant Family Birth Announcements to the left and Giraffes Birth Announcements to the right, which really helps to add more fun to the designs.
Top left going clockwise: Elephant Family Birth Announcement at mini Moko, Transportation Bib at Design Child, Pull along Helicopter at ekidna kids, Cot Set at Red Plum Linen, Terry Growsuit at PureBaby, Heimess Frog Pram Toy at ekidna kids, Custom Made Names at fudge design, Blue Strp Blanket at Red Plum Linen, Mamas and Papas Barnaby Buttons Chatterbox Bear at ekidna kids.

Birth Announcements for a Girl
I recently designed a new range of birth announcements. When I am designing new stationery, I am always on the look out for willing models. In this case a good friend of mine offered this amazing picture of her daughter Beth when she was a little baby!
To the left is a beautiful soft pink, vintage styled, birth announcement with a contrasting dark chocolate intricate floral frame. To the right a happy pink elephant family parade across the top of the birth announcement, offering an adorable way to share the exciting news of your baby's arrival with your family and friends. Both designs come in other colours including neutral tones too.
Top left going clockwise: Vintage Circle Birth Announcement at mini Moko, Mama and Papas Message in a Box - Queeny at ekidna kids, Custom Made Names at fudge design, Little Elephants Birth Announcement at mini Moko, Sage Green Ruffle Pants at posh print designs, Chocolate Baby Blanket at design child, Petit Fleur Pink & Candy Spot Cushion Covers at red plum linen, Knitted Bib with Bird Applique at and me too
Watch out for some birth announcements for little boys in the next few days!!

Update of Facebook Status at the Altar
So, did you see the news the other day?
That's right! Just after the minister announced a couple man and wife, the groom took his phone out and updated his facebook status from 'in a relationship' to 'married' to a round of applause and laughter from the congregation!
I had to chuckle when the minister turned to the congregation after and announced "its official in FACEBOOK and it's now official in MY BOOK!!"
Check it out on you tube

Client Wedding - Janelle and Daniel - Hamilton Island
This week I am thrilled to be able to share with you photographs from Janelle and Daniel's wedding on Hamilton Island. They were a gorgeous couple to work with and I loved every minute of creating their beautiful wedding stationery.
As the wedding was based on Hamilton Island, Janelle was keen to introduce a strong yet simple beach theme into the stationery design. I loved the idea of using a star fish and its striking burnt orange matched the bridesmaid dresses, flowers and men's ties.
Above: Janelles beautiful wedding gown, contrasting burnt orange bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen ties were by Catherine R Couture in East Ivanhoe, Victoria. All jewellery was made by Jeanette Maree in Prahan, Victoria. Flowers were by Starcut Flowers, Mackay, Queensland. Starfish Wedding Invitation an by mini Moko.
Above: Photography by Dean Whitling. Starfish RSVP and Thank you cards by mini Moko.
We wish Janelle and Daniel all the best for the future xx

Look to nature
I love walking back home in summer with all the trees in our street draping over and glistening in the sun. They do tend to take over but that is part of their beauty as well as their amazing vibrant colours. Feeling inspired I decided to put a colour chart together based on the varying colours for future wedding stationery - so watch out. What better source of inspiration can you have than looking to nature!Wednesday, November 18, 2009
Beautiful Photography
Well, I'm very excited today to be able to show you some stunning photography from Shannon Mcdonald. Shannon focuses on family portraits that make you smile. It is one of my regrets that we never organised a professional photographer for our son Dan when he was a newborn. I will certainly have to arrange some soon while he still has gorgeous toddler curls and hasn't turned into a stroppy teenager over night...Shannon! You could use these in any of our gorgeous baby stationery too!So here is the blurb on Shannon,
Shannon McDonald Photography is based on Shannon's love of people and photography.
Her photography style places a very strong emphasis on the 'natural'. She doesn't put babies in plant pots or tiaras or use artificial studio lighting. Her aim is to bring out your families' individual personalities; your smiles and your relationships with each other.
As a mum, she understands how difficult it can be to simply leave the house at times. So, she can either come to your home, where your child will probably feel most at ease anyway, or you can even travel to a favourite park. Either way, she always uses natural light. She is also more than happy to take time out for breastfeeds, snacking, crying or otherwise. Shannon works around you and your family.
Shannon McDonald Photography adores creating memories for people that will stay in their lives for a lifetime and would love to do that for you.

"At Faye Cahill Cake Design, we combine a love of decadent desserts with a passion for colour and design. The most inspired cakes are created in colloboration with our clients and we are fortunate to be chosen by Sydney and Australia's most stylish brides, who always bring fresh ideas to the table.
